Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum and opportunities abound for both avid auto enthusiasts and those who simply enjoy interacting with visitors or lending a hand to behind-the-scenes projects. From high-schoolers through retirees, the Museum’s large corps of diverse, dedicated volunteers makes the Museum hum during public as well as after-hours.

But work isn't the only activity on the schedule.  Volunteers enjoy a range of benefits including guest lectures, excursions, recognition celebrations and award pins.

Red shirts, along with Museum badges, distinguish Walter P. Chrysler Museum volunteers when “on-the-job.” All volunteers receive training and are asked to work a minimum of two hours each shift and commit to at least 36 hours of service each year. The Museum welcomes volunteer support in the following areas:
  • Admissions
  • Adult Tour Group Guide
  • Gallery Aide
  • Gift Shop
  • School Group Tour Guide
  • Special Projects
  • Special Events
  • Vehicle Dusting and Cleaning
